Ok, well my PS2 isn't broke, the controller port is. .__.
Because the controller port tag fell out of the PS2, the first time I connected it, it went fine.
But the 2nd time (stupid me) I tried to connect it while the PS2 power was on, so the PS2 shot out sparks, and I got slightly shocked. Other than that, the PS2 works fine.

So, if I buy a new PS2 controller for PS2, will it still work?
Because I really want to play DDR again, and possibly make a backup of DS2001. ;__;

Is it the part of the PS2 where you plug in the controller that's broken or is it the part of the controller that you plug into the PS2 that's broken? Or both?
