Blehhhhhh XP …

My thoughts??

1.) Still no mod-chip for this console. Kinda forgivable, seeing as how I cannot think of any import game I would wanna use with the PS3, and at this point, it's impractical to send a massive 25-50 GB each of Blu-Ray ISO data just because I'm too damn lazy and cheap to buy a PS3 game.

2.) No PStwo backwards compatibility at all, let alone the one I tend to bitch about.

3.) No cheat devices made for this console. I dun'care what y'all ...

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are a lot of good games (both genuine & via emulation, etc.), and probably a good way to cheat with them , but I could only think of two games off the top of my head that I could use it for, neither of which I am any good at anyways .

The Kansas University winter drumline lends credence the age-old belief that if you get together enough university students and percussion instruments, eventually an interpretive re-enactment of Mega Man 2 will break out.

For your viewing pleasure, we present the Kansas University winter drumline's performance of Mega Man 2. The costumes might be a bit thrown together and Mega Man does die towards the middle of the performance, ...

Maybe even use a TV as a computer monitor as well.

Right now, I don't have a budget set, so until then, this would probably be a hypothetical/theoretical discussion thread, but I'd like to keep it somewhat realistic -- otherwise, I would've been more inclined to put this in General Banter .

So by the title of this thread, you could probably tell that I prefer a gaming laptop. That is, I need it to handle video-editing and gaming--more importantly--capping it at its highest quality settings. ...

Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

All I got was a black screen and no sound.

So far, I've only tried two games: Super Mario All-Stars & Earthbound. Both of them were kept safely in the big Earthbound special edition box that came with the Player's Guide.

Any help?

Here's all I can think of right now:

Zero Suit Samus Aran (Metroid series) looks like Kelly- She looks more like her in some other pictures.

So if you notice any, post them here! ...

What do y'all think of cheat devices?

I see how some people are anti-cheating. I have friends who think that way.

Personally, I'm not that big a gamer as it is, and I have very n00b-ish habits . There are a few games where I can play through without cheat devices and unlock 100% of the game--The Simpsons: Road Rage and Dance Summit 2001 . Most of the time, however, I depend on a GameShark or a CodeBreaker to unlock everything and get it over with .

I just downloaded a PS2 ...

I don't remember seeing the anime from start to finish, but I've seen all 52 episodes of the Stand Alone Complex series on [adult swim].

I bought the PSX/PSOne game a few years ago before then-EBGames abandoned selling any fifth-generation console games.

I just bought the PS2 SAC game. It was ESRB-rated M for Mature 17+, so the cashier needed to card me to make sure I was old enough to buy it . It felt weird, but it felt kinda good to tell you the truth to be told I look young . ...

I just got a PS2 EyeToy to use in a certain videogame.

It's great seeing myself and television and all, but I'm kinda annoyed that it displays a flipped image on the screen, kinda like I'm looking at myself in the mirror. I suppose it's more natural that way in most games, but for the videogame I play in particular, I'd rather see myself the way I would look from the perspective of the viewer, i.e. the camera. Any way of achieving that ????

Now my PS2Slim is more portable than it previously was . I spent a buck-fifty-large (US$150) on this thing. It's technically more expensive than the console itself .

There is a cheaper LCD screen--the Pelican game glass, which goes for US$70 average. However, it's smaller (7") the resolution is not as high, so fine text and stuff is pretty much unreadable on that thing.

There are basically two reasons why I would ever buy a PS2 [again]: Dance Summit 2001 and this game .

It's a stealth action game, kinda like Tenchu or Metal Gear Solid. And as with those games, I find it hard to sneak my way through this game, particularly the infrared laser beams .

Don't know if this is a true music-based game (and thus, belongs in the rhythm/music videogame thread), but somehow, you could purchase music and the different BGM affects what combos you could pull off.

Other than that, it's a typical hack-and-slash-button-mash adventure game .

Based on an anime? I don't know, but it's an anime-themed fighter with all girls . Considering that, X-Play, notorious for giving low scores for anime-based games, gave Arcana Heart "four mo-e stereotypes out of five" .
